Description In patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), it can take 6 months for oral methotrexate (MTX) to reach steady-state blood levels, according to a study by researchers in New Zealand published in the November issue of Arthritis & Rheumatism. The authors also found that in patients who had discontinued MTX, elimination of the drug from red blood cells was also slow. Reuters Health Information
